In the Kids Crossing Elementary Ministry, our strategy is simply this: to GRAB kids’ attention, GROW their faith in Jesus Christ, and equip them to GO reach the world with His love.
We GRAB kids’ attention and seek to connect them to Jesus with culturally relevant, biblically centered materials and programming, fun learning environments, and an expectation of excellence in everything we do. We partner with parents to GROW kids in their faith by presenting them with key biblical truths (our BIG Truths) and offering them community through Small Groups, all in a safe environment. As a result, kids are equipped to GO reach and serve others with the love of Jesus.

This Month’s BIG Truth: “God wants me to serve others!” (Service)
May 5, 2013 – Today’s lesson is… BOOTCAMP!
God loves us enough to let us go through bad times. Say what? God uses our tough times as a boot camp, to change us and make us better servants for Him. Even the apostle Paul, one of the great men used by God (who was once called Saul) had to go through boot camp. He desired to follow God; yet was hurting God’s people. In Acts chapter 9, we see how Jesus changed his life by blinding him for three days. After that, he became the man we know in the Bible, one who God used to change the lives of millions! Like Paul, our bad times can lead us into great serving opportunities. But we must always be willing to serve God and people in the good and the bad times.
May 12, 2013 – Today’s lesson is… USE YOUR EQUIPMENT!
When you look around your room you probably see lots of stuff. Even though it’s yours for now, the truth is that everything belongs to God. As Psalm 24:1 says “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” We’re just using God’s stuff for a short time. In that time He wants us to use it to show others what He is like as a loving God. Even the Apostle Paul used all that he had, including his skills, money, and possessions to serve others for God’s glory. Not only was he a teacher, but he was a tent maker; and made tents to pay for his mission trips. Let’s be like Paul and use all that God gives us to serve others, just like God wants.
May 19, 2013 – Today’s lesson is… TIME TO DEPLOY!
We’re all good at doing something, and usually enjoy doing things we’re good at. God wants to send us out to serve people, and one of the ways we can do that is to use our talents. If we’re good singers, we can sing. If we’re good students, we can teach other kids to be better students. The point is, God doesn’t want us to sit around wasting time away by doing nothing. He wants us to get out there and serve others now, just like the Apostle Paul did when he traveled around serving others with his friend Barnabus, as recorded in Acts 13. So find a way to serve, even in the simple and normal things in your family, school, and neighborhood. It’s time to deploy!
May 26, 2013 – KC ELEMENTARY SERVE DAY!
God is our Commanding Officer who wants us to obey His commands. Today your kids learned that one way to do this is by serving. They did this by serving around the church campus. They lived out the attitude we see Jesus has, as Philippians chapter 2 tells us. Jesus came to the earth to serve people. No job was too big, or too low for Jesus. And He wants us to have His same serving attitude, as He said in John 12:26: “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be.” Jesus took on the role of a servant while He was here on earth, so let’s follow His perfect example. Let’s obey God as our Commanding Officer by serving others like Jesus!
